About BluestÄltet
The Blues Tent is a part of the annual 'Malmoe City Festival' but is run independently by the association 'Malmoe-Copenhagen Blues Connexion' (aka MCBC). The purpose of the association is to support the live blues and roots music in the region.
According to the festival rules, all the entertainment are free of fees for the visitors. Neither do we have any economical contribution from the municipality. This means that we have a limited budget. The association itself, however, has no profit requirements and any financial surpluses are invested in the year ahead.
Also good to know, is that the tent is run by enthusiasts who works voluntarily and spend lots of time and energy to make this happen. Be kind to them, they are a rare kind and close to extinction!
Legally responsible for the tent is the association's board.

Tent and stage
The tent is 10 x 20 meters (33' x 66') wide and is licensed to accommodate 300 people. We have standing audience inside the tent, but outside there is an outdoor cafe with benches and tables.
The stage which is about 6 x 4 meters (20' x 13') and 70 cm (2,5') high. That is (260 square feet) and high.) The stage has stairs and guardrails and safety is approved by the Musicians' Union.
You reach the stage by an outside corridor. So, no need to cross the audience.
The scene has a modern sound system and light facilities.
Accessibility
It is crowded and difficult to get around by car in Malmoe during the festival. Additionally, several parking lots are closed. We do have a small space for parking backstage. If you need to use this please contact us in advance.
There’s a multistory car park on Kaptensgatan or you could find parking lots on Kungsgatan behind the 'Fire Department' & Latin School or along the Södra Promenaden. All within 5 minutes walking distance.
But still... it is much easier to walk, bike, take a bus or train...

Guest artists
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that so-called 'guest artists' are not allowed, unless it's an obvious part of the act. Please discuss with the organizer, if it is appropriate.
